GETTING THERE

Getting to Shelter Island is part of the experience. Whether you’re arriving by ferry, car, or air, here’s a simple guide to help make your journey as smooth as possible.

01.
BY FERRY

Shelter Island is accessible by ferry from both Greenport and North Haven. We recommend checking the current ferry schedule before traveling, especially during the busy summer season.

02.
BY CAR

Drive to either the Greenport or North Haven ferry terminal, then continue across to Shelter Island. Allow a little extra time for summer traffic and ferry boarding.

03.
BY AIR

If you’re flying in, arrive at a nearby New York or Long Island airport and continue by car to one of the ferry terminals.

WHERE TO STAY

We recommend booking early, as June is a popular time on Shelter Island.
